If you have ever needed a door rim lock in an odd size you know how difficult it can be to find. We have taken original examples of these hard to find locks and had them authentically re-created to exact standards.

I do wish the lock had come with a template. It doesn't have instructions for switching the hand so here's mine. On a flat surface unscrew the lock and turn the latch over hooking it back in place, be sure the springs are in place before putting the plate back on.
3 Stars Crude Reproduction

If you had these authentically re-created to exact standards, they should work for a left or right opening door by changing the position of the catch. I had to open the lock and do some filing to make it work. I did like the heavy duty brass keys.
5 Stars Restorers 2 3/8 Inch Backset Rim Lock

The three screw holes of the Backset Rim Lock fit perfectly to the existing 150 year old three screw holes. What a pleasure to see the restored door looking and working as it did 150 yeqars ago.
