The Meadows collection by Nostalgic Warehouse is characterised by a Greek Classical Revival beaded pattern around the perimeter of both the back plate and the knob with a floral design in the interior areas. The shape of the plate is square with an arched top and bottom. The Meadows design is a reproduction of P.F. Corbin's "Como" door set from the early 1900's and was popular in the late Victorian period. The style has been modified slightly to fit on modern pre-drilled doors. A mortised door is usually an older door that has a longer, more narrow lock body and can be used as a passage or privacy door set. To use it as privacy, you have a skeleton key that unlocks and locks from both sides of the door. To use it as passage, you would simply not use the key or lock the door.
