Heat embossed birch appliques are made of multi-layered hardwood. They will not be split easily from nails or staples. However, as in the past, we recommend that you use wood glue for applying the appliques. The molds used to produce these carvings were the originals, used at the turn of the century! The appliques are sold as a pair, measurements given are for each individual piece.
