However, due to the fluctuations of prices this significance was lost & the terms were retained to indicate size. Example: 2d-1", 8d-2 1/2", 100d-8". Please note: due to the forging process the nail weight can vary, creating a considerable flunctuation in the amount of nails per pound. |
