This tin is perfectly suited for use as a panel or for students. It's relatively light gauge makes it easy to handle. The finish is very uniform, but comes in more like a satin to me, rather than glossy or shiny. It's easy to fold, shows punchwork nicely and solders easily with flux and 50/50 solid core. I'd give it a 5, but I keep having issues with shipping. I've yet to have a shipment that arrived without shipping damage or wrapped in shipping tape that was so difficult to get off, it turned the two outer sheets essentially into packing material. If your project requires every inch of this sheet for the finish, you might want to take that into consideration. Otherwise, I'd expect to lose about an inch and a half to two inches to shipping damage.
This is a nice, light gauge tin sheet. The finish is almost satin, but extremely uniform. It solders well with flux and 50/50 solid core. It shows stampwork nicely but is a little thin for heavy stampwork (will start to shape and bend). Easily pierced through with nail sets, etc. I actually use a heavy duty 3-hole paper punch for one project to speed the prep and it slices clean holes with no problems. The panels ship with little edge protection, so there's always a little ship damage, although it's never gone in more than an inch on a corner, but it's enough that it would be tough to hide if you needed every inch for your project. It sometimes ships with this sort of paper-backed reinforced packing tape, and I've yet to figure a solvent that easily allows you to remove it, so again, if you're using the entire sheet in the project, you can consider the front and back sheets as shipping covers.
