Simple items. Work the way you'd expect. Depending on your escutcheon profile, you may need to recess these into the surface to get your escutcheons to sit tightly. Cast brass escutcheons will have a flat back, while spun or stamped brass or steel will have an integrated cavity to accommodate these. You'll see what I mean if I didn't word it clearly enough. Just make certain that you know what threading profile your knobs have--16tpi or 20tpi.

I made a coat rack for the hall, 7 feet long and was able to put 8 vintage knobs instead of the hooks. It works great.

Helped us to use vintage knobs and plates on some new closet doors (bi-fold doors on bedroom closet, and on double doors to our big utility closet) - they were easy to use and the results look great!
