I've bought the rustic, old world style strap hinges before as well as the decorative ones that only apply to the top of a chest. I was hoping these would be just as good and I was pleasantly surprised to find these are even nicer. My customer's chest didn't require anything decorative, just functional and black to go on the inside. The black is a good quality powder-coat and the iron is thick enough and the pin strong enough for more than this job. VanDykes customer for over 20 years and they've never let me down.
