Beautiful rail, packaging is a bust.... literally

The brass rail is beautiful. but the way it is packaged for shipping damages the railing. I ordered 4 rails. When my shipment arrived, I could see the rail poking out of the box, bent. Upon opening I discovered one of the rails had slid out of the box and we only received 3 rails, I know Van Dykes packaged 4 rails into the box, the plastic sleeve for the missing rail piece was still in the box. Van Dykes customer service was amazing, sent 4 new rail pieces out the next day. When I received the 2nd shipment, it was in the same condition, I could see the rail poking out of the box. I opened to discover, only 3 rails, slightly bent and one rail had slid out of the box and was missing. Yes, this is a shipping company issue as well, but certainly a different way to package would help to resolve the problem. I was able to cut the pieces I needed for my project from the 6 pieces we received. I made customer service aware of the second shipping issue; hopefully they can find another way to contain the rails during shipping.
