Build Your Own Heirloom Furniture

Have you thought about building your own furniture piece but didn’t want to cut all the pieces and follow a difficult pattern? Furniture kits from Van Dyke's are a great DIY project for those with basic carpentry skills with a rating of 1 or 2 in difficulty.

A Rating of 1 requires a minimal amount of trimming, gluing, final sanding and staining, and attaching hardware. All components are already cut and pre-drilled. A Rating of 2 may require some additional cutting, gluing, sanding, staining, and attaching hardware. Tools needed include hammer, nails, screws, screwdriver, glue, recessed tip driver, sandpaper, stains, varnishes, or paint. Some of our kits are Rating 3 and are designed for the more skilled craftsman. They may require additional cutting of pieces, shaping, and drilling of holes.

Our kits include everything you need to build your own heirloom quality shelves, medicine cabinets, Hoosier cabinets, Mission style tables and furniture, ice boxes, desks, bookcases, and more. All kits come unfinished so you can customize them with your own stains, paint, or sealants. Hardware is included with all kits, but you can customize your heirloom piece by ordering from our extensive selection of reproduction hardware.
