Totally Flawed Design

These hinges are very stylish and have a nice open and closing action in the hand. BUT, they are of a design that absolutely does not work without ruining your door and trim. I learned the hard way. The hinge action pushes metal parts of the hinge into the flat surface of the door or trim. They surface mount flat as they should, but when the hinge opens, the opposing side digs in as it protrudes past the flush side of the hinge. Whoever designed these, needs to be fired. They look lovely, but simply can’t work as built.
