Restorers Close Weave Premium Rattan Cane Webbing - 18" Or 24" Wide

Minimum order of 12" required.

Whether repairing a cane chair or making a new chair, we have the rattan caning materials you need. Choose this popular close weave pattern in 18" or 24" sizes. Pre-woven rattan cane webbing is used when a groove surrounds the caned area. On projects where holes are drilled around the outside edges of the area to be caned, unwoven rattan chair cane must be used. Allow one inch overlap of woven rattan cane, measuring outside of groove from side to side at widest point.

  • Thickness: Approximately 1/16" - 3/32", but may vary due to being natural material
  • Minimum order of 12" required.
  • Please enter linear inches in the Length box provided.
  • Please note: Orientation of the weave is as shown. 18 or 24 inch size is from top to bottom in the picture. The length ordered will be from left to right.

CAIN WEBBING
This shopper rated the product 1 out of 5 stars

My project involved replacement of torn reed webbing on old Hitchcock bench. The original Webb was a tight weave pattern with no spacing. What I received was semi-tight weave with loose strands and reed openings throughout the webbing fabric. Totally unusable! Disappointing product from description. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

hard to find, good to have

It seems to be quite good quality just looking at it - but I have not applied it to the chair yet. I'll let you know if I have any further comments later.

Disappointing
This shopper rated the product 1 out of 5 stars

I ordered this and got a piece with a broken reed. I asked for a replacement, which came with a reed that was twisted (not broken). Neither was acceptable to use as pressed cane for the seat of my chair. The cane was very dry and it is not surprising that it had a broken strand. We have always had great success with Van Dyke's products and this experience was very disappointing. Apparently there is no quality control before shipping. The good news is that we received a refund.

Cane Webbing

The material was just as advertised. Relatively easy to cut and fit to door fronts and cabinet sides. I should have asked for a glue recommendation since the first few adhesives I used did not work well. End result is great!
