If you are looking for a basic lock that will fit a number of applications, look no further! This solid brass door bolt is ideally suited for bathroom privacy latches where emergency egress is not required or for cabinets that need a secure fastening method. Bolt has a 1 3/4" backset with a bolt throw of 1/2". Cylinder requires a 9/16" hole for installation. 2 9/16" Overall length. Escutcheon is 3/4" W x 1 3/4" L. Strike plate included.

Quality was good. Disappointed with the antique brass finish which was too shiny and had a pewter look to it. It was to match the window hardware on a 1910 craftsman and unfortunately looks new instead of original, as I had hoped.

St Simons mortise door bolt

Installed an antique door knob set into an old bathroom door, but location of keyhole/ lock given original mortise was not functional. The size and appearance of this lock was perfect, and the lock was easy for the carpenter to install. It coordinates well with the antique door hardware and door/ house and looks as though it has been there for years and years!

The part isn't anything special, but the service I received from Van Dyke's is top notch. The item was first sent to me in a shipping envelope, and in transit was bent. I promptly returned the item and requested the new one be shipped in a small box. Low and behold they read my concerns with the shipping and shipped the new part back within a week in a small box, and it was undamaged. Best online purchase ever simply because of the customer service.
