Add a Colonial-style design element above a window or door with this Restorers Architectural 61" Peaked Cap Urn Urethane Pediment. Pediments are the portion of the trim that is located above the pilasters, which are the column like frames on the sides of windows and doors. Between the pediment and the pilasters, is a crosshead or breast board. The crosshead is the flatter, protruding section directly above the door. Pediments are manufactured out of a high-density urethane, which is made to resemble wood without the maintenance required by wood products. Urethane products are resistant to cracking, splitting and rotting, and insects. They are usually less expensive than wood alternatives.
