Sizing & Ladder Height

Measure from the floor to the center of the track, then add 5 inches to determine the correct ladder height.
Plan for about 25–30 inches of space when the ladder is in use, and about 6½–7 inches when stored against the wall.
Library ladders are designed to sit at approximately a 12-degree angle when in use.

Cabinets, Clearance & Storage

In most cases, yes. Proper placement allows the ladder to clear lower cabinets and obstacles.
The track should be mounted at least 4 inches below the bottom of upper cabinet doors.
Yes. Ladders store upright against the wall and can be easily pulled out into position when needed.

Track & Installation

Yes. The aluminum track can be cut to fit your space.
Always mount into solid wood. If needed, install wood blocking or trim first, then attach the hardware to that surface.
Yes. Ceiling mount brackets are available and should be secured into solid structural support.
Do not mount directly into plaster. Secure a wood backing board first, then mount the hardware to that.

Options include wood species, finishes, handrails, brake systems, rolling or hook-on ladders, curved tracks, and multi-track setups.
Yes, as long as all tracks are installed at the same height.
Yes. Handrails are available as built-in or add-on options depending on the ladder style.
Yes. Curved and L-shaped track configurations are available for corner applications.

Safety & Use

Most systems support up to 500 lbs, while some traditional styles support up to 300 lbs.
No. The wheels are designed to be non-marring and safe for hardwood floors.
Yes. Low-pile carpet works best, though thicker carpet may be more difficult.
